well folks i am not sure about after taxes
but that check divides to our american population of 300 million
would look like 250, 000.00 per person,

This past week I had made a few appearances at London's Bicycle Film Festival.

well you see that little boombox, there was two i used on a drawing today. two little boomboxes to complete a section of the large collage. I had lunch and ran my hands over all the little pieces I had made just an hour before-no skate park today rain date- I inspected my craft like a carpenter, running his hands over all the lathes or trim or dovetails or what ever he does with wood. and damn son, that little speaker box was gone.

So I went looking.

As I was saying/typing today to a dear friend about this political economic situation, and mind you - - -
its a heaping mess, and an ugly one, a catastrophic car wreck that every one lived through but should not have. the victims are terribly mangled and bleeding and gnarled and limbless and nubbed and they are fighting over who started the accident. not just landing a tooth tax kind of a blow
but bad youtube home made cage match style fighting meets british movie portrayal of bitter beered up footballer hooligan style fighting. something Troma Entertainment would have passed up because it is too damned silly. how silly, our global economic pandemic.

I did not find the little speaker, although I did look. and it wasnt a loss nor was it hopeless.

I read something in the NYTimes magazine this week in their carbon offsetting thing, something about ghost bikes but hadnt met the dude in NYC who I am sure started it.
He is a humble but interesting kid. An amazing DIY project that has unfortunately been picked up in any city where there are cyclists. And I mean that as in here the other day, say Thursday last week, a deaf gentleman was riding his bike and run over by a cement mixer. The poor driver didnt even know he killed a man. The driver was half hour up the highway when he was stopped. No charges are being filed, but the horror has been noted.

Living in my new santa cruz house, the family has a lemon tree and to hell with lemonade we make merange...

PROLOGUE APRIL 2007, MEXICO CITY
I was grown on incredible amounts of punk rock and hip hop. I have noticed its recent change in location from late evening to prime time, from ciminalizing participation to economic emancipation. Lately I listened to the Gorillaz Demon Days album on repeat while I cleaned my house and studio. It got in...and cleaned my clock some. I recognized a familiar voice, one with with dynamic points of social interest, a matured voice addressing the larger climate a global perspective.
I watched the tone of pop become incredibly responsible. I noticed apathy legs crossed and sighing by the fast forward button smoldering on the side of my I-pod.

My poster class split into two, creating icons based on the songs from Demon Days.
The two groups worked independent of one another at first making their images.
When together in class, they created a mural inspired from the songs themes.

Sassy is not just an out of print teen magazine,
it is also my damned students posturing so well.
Soon some will grow to be designers, professional even.

This was our rental truck, a 24 Ft 2005 International.
It was a factory turbo diesel no modifications.
We ran it down to Miami on 200 gallons of fuel,

It was the return trip that made headlines...

RETURN TRIP, MINUS THE BREAKDOWN (MIAMI - NYC):
This was last Tuesday morning, the 11th, sort of like yesterday.
We headed out of town a full tank of Diesel Fuel
and as we ventured the east coast's I-95
and set out to find Bio Diesel spots to refuel.
Made our own map quest using a blackberry,
an antiquated GPS system and an old fashioned map.
There are seemingly hundreds of bio fuel sites listed across America,
but only two along our route. With that said the only two along our route
and they only use B20 or B5 which is great, but not exactly best said,
as an "alternative fuel" more like an eco supplement.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the terms B5 or B20
or Bwhat have you,the B stands for Biodiesel and the Number
is the percentage of bio fuels used in the mixture with traditional
petro based diesel.

The second stop/spot was as they say in the south, a blower.
We were so excited to stop ... we had mapped out our fuel usage so that by the time we hit VA
we would be on empty, or close to it. We pulled up to the pump and proceeded to take all these photos (TK) proud, smiling, as if we unearthed a treasure. I mean, at an Exxon station, bananas.

So SCOPE has opened up and my life has been a steady surplus of the drink and coffee since.
Kenya showed up on Thursday morning and when the night hit I fell.
Glass jawed and jaw , jaw, jaw, jk. It has been wonderful, sincerely. So much art positioning and conversation with regards to my Rudolf project, owed to Jacqueline Tarry and Brad McCallum.So much.
With said, an equal mention goes out to Simon Watson for the extra positioning and support. Shit its Saturday and we have just relaxed the last hour and half from Scope's closing missed the Block Party and I am here showered up and listening to the Hot Snakes on Youtube

Man, all for the love of some idea. we held the Miami streets down this morning at around 730am
critical mass, maybe more than in NYC these days. Solid. But what you miss here are the ferral dogs that just chased me two blocks from this direct spot, or close to it yo. I made soap. I wasnt satisfied witht he color last night.
I had picked up oil in Miami from three different locations, and it was all news to me that the spots i picked up at sell the oil to folks for frying again, yes strange and maybe unhealthy.

And today and all ways Roberto Clemente is a Park and a Pirate and a Person.

DRIVING LANE, WOULD GRAIN

Sigfus South of the border with our rig second fueling. It was cold and nobody was selling fireworks at 330am.
From that excursion up on Harmony Farms I was able to produce a quality
150 gallons of fuel. We are still running on half a tank with the truck. We left this past Thursday and arrived on Friday evening in Miami traffic. Lovely place to be stuck.

I had a batch of fuel sitting since late September and yes Virginia
glycerine freezes. And heating pads catch fire. And check valves break and other ones break but fall into the deeps of heated grease the bottom of a 55 gallon drum.

Frustrated and exhausted we, up on the farm have farm things to do, the show must go on.

MOVING MOUNTAINS AND CLIMATE

I was going to make copious amounts of home brew fuel,
saturday and sunday up at an undisclosed farm upstate new york.
Repeat up as in 230 miles real north.
About 50 to 65 miles of that are backroads where the birds eat the breadcrumbs...

I arrived around dusk-starting to cool down
-rather let's ratchet it up- during the middle of the town's picnic and festivities.
Fanfuckingtastic. Homemade foods and by that I mean home grown too.

Kids bouncing around like flubber. They where running around a parachute

listening a bit better than the kids but not entirely two ears to the accoustic folk music that was
meandering the church donated folding tables,
they were telling their own stories.

One was about a man standing on the roads' shoulder holding a jerry can.
Overcast gloomy and predicted that the heavens seemingly might tear open
and force the land to the ever mysterious deeps of the sea floor, neighboring Davey Jone's Locker.
The man telling the story was the driver whom stopped sympathetic,
he leans over opens the passenger door and says get in...

Driver/story teller:
Funny I must have been into the radio program cause I didn't see your car stranded earlier on down the road.

I only put about five gallons of our 55 gallon batch in my truck for fear the contents contained to much water.
It was quite cloudy and by heating small amounts in mason jars we realized that our home grown
just needed more washing and drying.
During my pergatory of processing-

I, By myself, changed my motor oil for the first time in my 15 years of driving, man it helps to have a garage.

I went to a great friends wedding yesterday, Merideth Kahn. Congratulations.

My role lately: union work

Anyone who has ever worked in a union, knows you can almost never say no.... to Work.

Well lucky for me I have Work, and on a movie driving the talent. They refer to him or her "number one".

For the union I drive trucks, vans, and for this project, its been 4 suvs. I am talent driver for this gig.

When working on a movie - well how can express this particular situation - you have very little personal time in a five day period of filming or " flat"-
I am slated for a 64 hour work week and there is always overtime.
There are only 120 hours in the week, with roughly 30 hours for sleep and if I can find it, a solid 26 hours for myself. A solid 26 hours of great god damn exhausted gold.

Last night number one wrap'd early,
After driving him home from set, traffic took some of those precious 26 away from me- 1.5 hours to get home. Making me available for a wedding I thought I would miss.

I arrive so close to on time, I pretend to feel profesional and in control.
For this month and next's making the rent and bills I haven't the luxery of my own hours...said prior.

While banter and bullshit is kicked about I was speaking excitedly with the brides best friend, about my luck and ability to attend so early or at all.
My smile failed to convince her to match mine. A wicked thing must have came through to push her an eye brow raised and devil winded her lips down ward-
As she said "you would have missed the wedding for a movie.?"
Scourn me you pretty green pocketed people.
I said so quick and confident like a winning hand of black jack - " i didn't rent the fucking thing, I have to work on it."

My white wine became mortuary freezer stiff and solid to my lips like iced concrete. I walked off the social set and yes like the proverbial old timed good guys I wore fucking white. ! Be cool, yo. Thank christ my lady showed up soon after.
